Species identification
Aiming to know which species live in a given area you are monitoring? Hair, feces, or even water samples allow us to genetically identify those species. These non invasive analyses are particularly interesting when working with threatened or elusive species.
Population size estimation
Aiming to know the population size from a species you are studying in a given area? Non invasive samples such as hair or feces are sufficient to answer your question.
Diet analysis
Aiming to investigate the diet of a species? Are any protected species eaten by any particular predator? Our lab is able to perform diet analyses from feces by using next-generation sequencing tools.
Bacterial pathogen identification
Aiming to know the potential presence of any bacterial disease within a given area? We can test ticks, mosquitoes and small animals to detect the presence of potentially pathogenic bacteria (Borrelia, Bartonella, etc…) using next-generation sequencing tools.
